Privacy Policy

Your resume holds some of your most personal information. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, and the control you keep over it.

Last updated June 12, 2026GDPR & CCPA aligned
The short version
We collect only what we need to build your resume — and never sell your data.
The contents of your resume are never used to train third-party AI models.
You can export or permanently delete your data anytime from your dashboard.
Everything is encrypted in transit and at rest.
01

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to help you build and improve your resume. This falls into three groups: information you give us, information created as you use Resumekit, and a small amount of technical data your device shares automatically.

  • Information you provide — your name, email, and the contents of any resume you create or upload, including work history, education, and skills.
  • Usage information — which templates you open, features you use, and edits you make, so we can improve the product.
  • Technical data — browser type, device, approximate location from your IP, and cookie identifiers.
02

How we use your information

Your information is used to provide and improve the service — generating AI suggestions, formatting exports, saving your drafts, and keeping your account secure. We also use it to communicate with you about your account and, only with your consent, to send product updates.

We do not use the contents of your resume to train third-party AI models, and we never sell your personal information.

03

AI processing

When you ask our AI to draft or rewrite content, the relevant text is sent to our processing providers to generate a response. This data is encrypted in transit, processed only to fulfil your request, and is not retained by those providers to train their models.

You stay in control: AI suggestions are never applied automatically, and you can edit or discard anything it produces.

04

How we share information

We share data only with vetted service providers who help us operate Resumekit, and only to the extent they need it. Each is bound by contract to protect your information and use it solely on our instructions.

  • Infrastructure & hosting — to store your account and resumes securely.
  • Payment processors — to handle subscriptions; we never see your full card number.
  • Analytics & support tools — to understand usage and help you when you reach out.
05

Cookies & tracking

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and the product working, plus optional analytics cookies to understand how Resumekit is used. You can accept or decline optional cookies at any time from your cookie settings, and your browser lets you block cookies entirely.

06

Data retention

We keep your resumes and account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete a resume it is removed from active systems immediately and purged from backups within 30 days. Close your account and we delete your personal data, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal obligations.

07

Your rights & choices

Wherever you live, you can access, correct, export, or delete your personal data directly from your dashboard. Depending on your region, you may also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

  • Access & portability — download a copy of your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Correction & deletion — fix or permanently remove your information.
  • Withdraw consent — opt out of marketing or optional cookies at any time.
08

Security

Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We enforce strict access controls, monitor our systems continuously, and review our security practices regularly. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your information and will notify you promptly of any breach that affects you.

09

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you by email or in-product before the changes take effect. Continuing to use Resumekit after an update means you accept the revised policy.
